Dominion Voice and Data began in 1999 as a Telephone Value Added Reseller. From the beginning, the mission was not to merely sell telephone systems, but to enhance our customer's abilities to communicate within their own organization and better reach those whom they serve. This attention on outcomes led to success in the healthcare and senior living market segments, where the need for reliable, accurate, and immediate communication is a necessity. Support from the Toshiba National Accounts Program, and SpectraLink premise based mobile systems, only enhanced our standing in those markets.
In short, we have built our business around our core principles of exceptional customer service and industry heritage, with a goal towards controlled growth and flexibility as new technologies emerge. In response to the ever-evolving world of technology, and the need for an adaptive strategy, Chad Tester and Steve Smith, as owners of DVD, bring a blend of sales leadership and marketing experience, coupled with an extensive engineering and contracting background, which will allow us to embrace the changes technology brings. This proactive approach is allowing Dominion to assist our customers in seizing the benefits now offered from the convergence of voice and network technologies. We embrace the new technologies, and understand that education and integrity are vital to creating lasting customer relationships. That is why all of our sales and technical personnel are constantly training, to provide world class technical support.
Technology is great, but the pursuit of technology is not the ultimate goal. At Dominion Voice and Data we realize that it is only a tool to be used to increase productivity, enhance profits, or reduce costs.

Steve Smith – CEO
Mr. Smith has over 30 years of sales management and executive experience in the electrical/electronic distribution industry. Born and raised in Gastonia, NC, Steve attended NC State University and began his career in sales management, where he started and managed several offices within the Mid-Atlantic region. His unique ability to plant and grow businesses has equipped him to manage the vision for Dominion Voice and Data. He and his wife Wendy reside in Richmond, VA, and their son Blair lives and works in Northern Virginia.
Chad Tester – COO
Mr. Tester has 19 years of experience in engineering, electrical, telecommunication, and mechanical construction. His successes have included the execution, operations, and project management of large complex projects within Mission Critical Markets throughout the US. Born in Chesapeake, VA, Chad attended Virginia Military Institute where he received an Engineering degree, and settled down in Richmond, VA to pursue his career. His attention to detail and client's needs has built a great reputation in the industry, which enables him to successfully manage all operations at Dominion Voice and Data.
